Geriatric Medicine is defined as a medical practice that deals with diseases and normal physiological changes associated with ageing and old people. Gerontology, the study of ageing, is an interdisciplinary area of great theoretical and practical breadth and depth. The growing body of knowledge in biological, psychological and social ageing process is enormous and covered to a large extent in this program. Multidisciplinary gerontological knowledge can be applied in planning therapy programs and for utilization of special approaches and techniques like Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychotherapy etc. in carrying out treatment for the elderly.
 
     
  The goals of this program are:

  • To understand Geriatric assessment
 
 
  • To increase physical fitness and make the patient independent in ADL.
 
 
  • To create a geriatric friendly architectural barrier free environment
 
 
  • To motivate the elderly person psychologically to LIVE his life.

He specializes in Neuro- Rehabilitation and Stress Management. He is Head of the Department, Physical Rehabilitation, MKW Hospital, Delhi, India and associated with The Apollo Clinic (run by Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals); and Ayudham Old Age Home.
